(Summit, NJ) November 3, 2017 – Dr. Robert Rubino was named to the annual “Jersey Choice: Top Doctors” list in the November 2017 issue of New Jersey Monthly. This marks his tenth, consecutive year of inclusion on the list.
Dr. Rubino continues to be a leader in women’s medicine through clinical research, the use of minimally invasive therapies and by improving access to healthcare. As principal investigator of a multi-center national trial, his research on surgical techniques was published earlier this year in The Journal of Reproductive Medicine.
According to the article in New Jersey Monthly, Dr. Rubino is, “a nationally recognized expert in minimally invasive procedures. Dr. Rubino is at the forefront of women’s health care.”
Dr. Rubino focuses on less invasive therapies for medical disorders. He introduced the use of FemiLift, a non-hormonal laser therapy to relieve atrophy, painful intercourse and minor incontinence. This treatment is especially beneficial for women who cannot take estrogen. The Rubino OB/GYN Group utilizes Her Option® cryoablation, an office procedure that is an alternative to hysterectomy to stop heavy menstrual bleeding and MyoSure®, a device used to remove certain types of uterine tumors without an incision.
“It is gratifying to be recognized by my peers,” Dr. Rubino said. “I am fortunate to work with colleagues in the practice who are dedicated and talented physicians. We remain committed to advancing women’s health through evidence-based medicine, and ensuring a respectful and caring patient environment.”
In 2018, The Rubino OB/GYN Group will offer 3D mammography for patients during the annual exam. “Modern women have very busy schedules and we need to keep pace with them,” explains Dr. Rubino. “Offering mammography at the time of the check-up eliminates the need for another medical appointment. As we advance with best medical practices, we also need to seek common sense change that improves the workflow of medicine.”
New Jersey Monthly began the Top Docs selection process in January 2017. More than 24,000 New Jersey-based doctors were offered the chance to participate in a survey, recommending peers they would choose to treat their own families.
Dr. Rubino is a resident of Summit and is currently a second-term member of Summit Common Council. He is spearheading the building of the Summit Park Line, converting an abandoned railway to an elevated pedestrian park. He also serves on the Board of Directors of University Hospital in Newark.
