pic9Solutions to Common Urinary Problems

Incontinence and pelvic floor problems are remarkably common but many women are reluctant to receive help because of the stigma associated with these conditions. The Rubino OB/GYN Group offers simple solutions to these, and other potentially embarrassing situations.

Our staff includes Audrey Romero, M.D, one of the only female, board-certified Urogynecologists in NJ. In addition to being board-certified in obstetrics and gynecology, Dr. Romero has completed subspecialty fellowship training in Urogynecology at the prestigious Duke University Medical School, the birthplace of that specialty. Thanks to her training, clinical experience and empathy with patients, women from neighboring states seek Dr. Romero’s care for urinary incontinence, pelvic floor problems, relapse and other issues. She is professional, exacting … a true expert in the field of Urogynecology.

Urodynamic Studies

If needed, Dr. Romero will perform urodynamic studies to identify the cause of your problem. These tests may include:

  1. Uroflometry: A procedure that measures the rate of urine flow as it leaves the body.
  2. Cystometrogram: This procedure tests the function of the bladder muscles.
  3. Electromyography of the external urinary sphincter. If necessary, this procedure is performed to study certain neurological conditions and urinary flow problems.

Dr. Romero has incorporated the latest, minimally invasive techniques, including the Vaginal Sling, used to treat severe stress incontinence. This painless outpatient procedure is performed right in the office and does not require general anesthesia.

Dr. Romero also leads our Pelvic Floor Therapy Program to help with urinary incontinence and painful intercourse.

The Rubino OB/GYN group and Dr. Romero will help you determine the best plan of care, whether it’s exercise, lifestyle changes, medications or a simple procedure.
